MadTosh colours for a Honey Beekeeper’s Quilt

11 12 2011

Okay, so I’m doing the Beekeeper’s Quilt by Tiny Owl Knits, and I’ve fallen in love with a lot of yellows. I’ve always liked yellow, but picture this: a knitted patchwork quilt of ALL YELLOWS. I’m on the fence about discriminating agains really obscenely brights or if they should have equal representation and be allowed to join the yellow party too.

So the colours that I’m thinking are (these are exclusively from Madelinetosh Yarns, in the Tosh Merino Light):

  • Alabaster
  • Butter
  • Candlewick
  • Gilded
  • Ginger
  • Milk
  • Nutmeg
  • Winter Wheat

Those are the ‘for sure’ colours that I’d like to include in my blanket. :) NOM. I also have some other yellows here now that I really want to include. YAY! :D

MadTosh also offers some other yellow-ish colours that I thought might fit in, but I’m really not sure about them. I think it’s a ‘have to see it in person’ sort of situation. The colours are:

  • Caravan (too orange?)
  • Copper Penny (too brown?)
  • Edison Bulb (too bright?)
  • Glazed Pecan (too brown?)
  • Maple Leaf (too green?)
  • Olivia (too green?)
  • Saffron (too copper/red?)

So, it’s going to take me FOR.EV.ER, but I’m so into this blanket that I’m afraid I’ll miss doing it once I’m done the first. It sounds crazy, I know, but honestly, these little hexapuffs are addicting! And so cute, too! :)

That all being said, I guess I should use this thing more often. I’ve been thinking about keeping progress on projects and stuff, now that I’ve found there actually are people who read this (HI SPARROW!), so I guess I might try to do that in the new year.

I’ve been pretty successful in my knitting this year, and I’m thinking about publishing some of my own patterns, and I guess this is a good place to do it (if I get the initiative to do so). :)
